The following is a list of frequently asked questions and their answers.
Question1Who is eligible to shop duty free?

Answer Duty free shopping is available to Korean and non-Korean citizens who are confirmed to be leaving the country. When visiting Hyundai Duty Free (offline), you must have your passport and flight information (e-ticket) on hand in order to make a purchase.
The purchased product must then be picked up on the designated departure date by the purchasing individual, who must go to the respective pick-up location and present his or her passport and ticket (inscribed with accurate departure information) for personal identification purposes.

Quesiton2When can I purchase duty free products?

Answer Purchases can be made up to 90 days before departure date.
Foreigners may, as already outlined by Hyundai Duty Free’s policy, purchase and receive Korean products on-site up to 90 days before their departure date.
Offline business hours are 09:30 to 20:00 for Hyundai Duty Free Trade Center and 11:00 to 22:00 for Hyundai Duty Free Dongdaemun. Both locations are operated year-round, as is Hyundai Duty Free Online, which is open 24 hours a day.
Please note, however, that the last order time is different for each airport depending on departure time. Therefore, customers are advised to check the MyHyundai page of Hyundai Duty Free Online for further information.

Quesiton4Must the individual leaving the country and the purchasing individual be the same?

Answer Yes. Before receiving your purchase from the pick-up location, the employee will check whether the name on your passport and boarding pass matches the name on the purchase receipt. Therefore, please make sure that the individual leaving the country is the purchasing individual.

Quesiton5How do I receive my purchase?

Answer Duty free purchases may be picked up from the designated pick-up locations at the airport you are departing from. The pick-up location may vary depending on your flight number and/or departure gate. Please check the exact location of the pick-up location on your receipt in advance.
Duty free purchases may only be picked up from the designated pick-up location at departure. Purchases may not be picked up upon returning to the country. It is recommended that you pick up your purchases one or two hours before your flight’s departure time.

Quesiton7How do I cancel my purchase before pick-up?

Answer COffline cancellation of the purchase of a product that has not yet been picked up may be done at the store of purchase. Online cancellations may be done through the Integrated Call Center.

If the purchase was made at HYUNDAI DEPARTMENT STORE INTERNET DUTY FREE, it can be immediately cancelled if the status of the purchased product is “Order Complete.”
However, if the status is “In Transit” or “Arrived at pick-up location,” you must contact the Integrated Call Center for further instructions on the cancellation procedure.

Quesiton8What should I do if a change occurs in my departure details (departure date, gate number, time, etc.)?

Answer Please contact the Integrated Call Center at least three days before your departure date in the event that your departure details change.

Quesiton9I couldn’t pick up my purchase at departure. What should I do?

Answer If you didn’t receive your purchase at departure, you may cancel the purchase or pick it up in person if you are scheduled to leave the country again within the next 30 days.
If you would like to cancel the purchase, online purchases may be cancelled by the customer at the HYUNDAI DEPARTMENT STORE INTERNET DUTY FREE website. You may also contact the Integrated Call Center.

Products that are not picked up for over one month are automatically processed as cancelled purchases. If the product was purchased online, the coupon and/or accumulated cash used will not be returned to you.
Please note that some brands, depending on individual brand policy, may not permit the pick-up of purchases left behind even if the customer will be re-departing the country.

Quesiton1 How do I apply for a membership?

Answer To apply for a membership, fill out a membership application form at the Membership Desk (10F) of Hyundai Duty Free TRADE CENTER SEOUL.
Please note that you must have your passport available.

For membership application at HYUNDAI DEPARTMENT STORE INTERNET DUTY FREE, after agreeing to the Terms and Conditions on the internet duty free website and verifying your identity, you will be asked to enter several items of personal information and register your passport in order to complete the application.

Quesiton2 What are the standards for membership levels at Hyundai Duty Free?

Answer The Hyundai Duty Free membership is divided into levels ranging from Silver to Prestige in accordance with the price totals of picked-up purchases.
